NBP with a high loss. The central bank showed the details

The loss of the National Bank of Poland for 2024 amounted to approx. PLN 13.347 billion – the NBP said in a business report for 2024.

The loss was influenced by a negative result in the title of monetary policy in the amount of PLN 21.166 billion. A negative result in the title of exchange rate differences in the amount of PLN 8.34 billion and a positive reserve management result in the amount of PLN 19.76 billion.

The loss of the NBP for 2023 amounted to PLN 20.8 billion.

The media wrote about this amount of loss for 2024 before Christmas. The loss of the NBP means that no money will go to the state budget again. According to the regulations, if the NBP would record profit, then 95 percent This amount should be sent to the state coffers.

At the same time, the remuneration of the NBP President Adam Glapiński increased in 2024 by 4.1 percent. RDR up to PLN 1,379,946 gross – the National Bank of Poland said on the website on the last day of March.
