During the trip, “regional and global issues” were also discussed and called for dialogue and diplomacy, but – as the Reuters agency noted – no conflicts that are currently taking place in the world were listed in the statement.

“The Prime Minister also gave the cordial greetings to US President Donald Trump and said that he could not wait for his visit to India this year,” we read in the Indian communiqué. It is expected that Trump will most likely take part in the summit of the Quad group, hosted by India. JD Vance came to the capital of India, Delhi, on Monday, with his wife and three children. The USHA VANCE policy spouse has Indian origin, her parents emigrated to the USA from the state of Andhra Prades, located in the south of India.

As “Times of India” noted, this is the first visit of the US Vice President in India for over a decade, the last one – this is the visit of Joe Biden in 2013.

Shortly after arriving in Delhi, the Vance family visited the Hindu temple complex Akshardham, near the Jamuna River. On Tuesday, the US Vice President will go to Jajpur, the capital of Rapestan. On this day he is to see, among others Fort Amber, i.e. the 16th-century palace and defense complex. The four -day journey will end on Thursday morning.

Vanca's visit takes place during trade tensions after Trump announced the raising of duties to goods. As BBC reminds, Trump repeatedly described India as a country “abusing customs policy” and “king of customs”. The US President announced the introduction of customs duties on Indian goods of 27 percent, after which he temporarily suspended them on April 9. At that time, India reduced customs tariffs to some American goods and further reductions are expected, because the trade balance falls in favor of Delhi – the trade surplus is $ 45.7 billion.

According to the BBC, the USA is one of the largest trading partners of India – the value of double -sided trade reaches $ 190 billion.

Prime Minister Modi was one of the first leaders who met Trump after his inauguration as president. Leaders during talks in Washington in mid -February this year. They set the purpose of increasing bilateral trade to $ 500 billion. (PAP)
