The daily pointed out that the US administration is waiting for Kiev's response to the plan to end the war, which – as emphasized “WSJ” – contains a number of concessions to Moscow.

“Wall Street Jorunal” said that a secret document was presented on Thursday in Paris by the Ukrainian side of American administration. The proposals were also presented to European interlocutors.

War in Ukraine. The United States is waiting for Ukraine's response

Kyiv is to respond to a proposal this week at a meeting in London representatives of USA, Ukraine and European countries. If there is agreement between the parties, the proposal is to be presented Russia. At the meeting in London, US Secretary Marco Rubio, US President's Middle Eastern President Steve Wiktoff and a special envoy for peace in Ukraine Keith Kellogg are to be present at the USA. Later, Witkoff may go to Russia again, but such a journey has not yet been officially announced, “WSJ” said.

On Friday in Paris, the Secretary of State USA stated that the United States would resign from attempts to bring peace between Russia and Ukraine within a few days, if there are no signals that the agreement in this matter is to be achieved.

The US is trying to suspend weapons that would apply on the current front line. However, accepting a part of Trump's proposal may be difficult for the authorities in Kiev, because Ukraine does not agree to Russian demands regarding its territory.

The US president reported on Sunday that he was counting on reaching an agreement between Ukraine and Russia in the coming week. He expressed the hope that both countries would do “big business” with the United States.
