On Tuesday, Typhoon fighters were called to capture the Russian Il-20M intelligence aircraft. Two days later, two British fighters intercepted an unknown machine leaving Kaliningrad.

Undersecretary of State for the Armed Forces of Luke Pollard, quoted by the Reuters agency, said that in the face of the growing aggression from Russia and the resulting threats, Great Britain is trying to calm his allies, scare away his opponents and take care of their own national security.

“This mission shows our ability to act side by side with a new NATO member, Sweden, and to defend the alliance airspace anywhere and time, thus ensuring safety at home and abroad,” he said in a statement.

Until now, the Russian side has not commented on these two events. (PAP)
