The European Commission reacts to the temporary truce of Ukraine and Russia. “We must see first”

Anitta Hipper reminded that it has been over a month since Ukraine agreed to the unconditional suspension of weapons proposed by the USA. She added that Russia could end the war at any time if she really wanted it.
“Russia has experience in being an aggressor, so we must first see that aggression has really ceased and that unequivocal actions have been taken for permanent suspension of weapons,” she said in a statement for PAP.
The spokeswoman emphasized that the EU still supports Ukraine in its activities for the benefit of a long, fair and comprehensive peace.
Russia continues the attacks
Putin announced an Easter truce in the war with Ukraine on Saturday about an hour in advance, which in his words is to apply for 30 hours – from 17 Polish time until 23 from Sunday to Monday. The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that the order of a truce has already been transferred to all commanders of the branches fighting Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski reacted to Russia's proposal – he said that if Easter truce became a fact, Ukraine suggests that it lasts not only until Sunday, but was extended.
The head of the Ukrainian government center of counteracting disinformation Andrij Kaluenko announced that Russian forces continue their attacks on Ukrainian positions despite the announcing of a truce.
