Ever since the rehabilitation works began, for several weeks, all the asphalt has been scraped and no speed limiters have been placed, no traffic lights have been introduced, he adds: “They have destroyed the road for a few weeks and left it. “
“When the trucks, tanks and cars, in speed, through our houses on DJ108A are passing, the noise is hell, the windows tremble, the walls of the houses crack and you feel that you move not with bed, but with a house.“He says.
The situation is no more enjoyable the day when, he says, “It is hard to be able to stay in the yard, because you cannot breathe from the dust clouds that the vehicles pass through the houses. The clothes put to dry in the yard are blackened in a few minutes, and the windows and curtains for the holidays already have two dust fingers in a few days. ”

Ship claims that after destroying the road, the workers took holiday leave:

The work of restoring the county road 108A, on the Salsig – Benesat portion is “A sinister gambling to thousands of people in Maramureș. The reaction of the County Council
“Adevărul” asked for a point of view of the Maramureș County Council regarding the stage of the works on DJ 108A Gârdani – Benesat.
The works are executed by the road insert SA based on a contract worth 55 million lei, financed through the National Investment Program “Anghel Saligny”, and aims to completely rehabilitate a section of 15.38 km that includes:
– Modernization of the carriageway,
– the arrangement of the streams and bridges,
– Construction of sidewalks and bus stations,
– Rehabilitation of side access and four bridges – it is shown in response.
“According to the entrepreneur, the works were not stopped on Wednesday, April 17, but continued in the Cheile Ţicăului area until Thursday afternoon, around 5:00 pm. In support of this statement, the entrepreneur has made available images attesting to the activity in the field. The works will be resumed on Tuesday, according to the assumed execution chart. The deadline remains the fall of 2025”, States CJ.
During the entire duration of the works, the responsibility regarding the state of the road – including the signaling, snow removal and maintenance – belongs exclusively to the performer, based on the contractual provisions, is shown in response. So the Maramureș County Roads Company has no attribution in terms of the state of the road.
“We understand the discomfort generated by the works in progress, especially in the decommissioned areas and apologize to all citizens and traffic participants. This discomfort is temporary but necessary, and our goal is that, at the end of the project, we offer to the communities in the modern and safe road infrastructure,” support the officials from the County Council.
In response, it is more art that, at the request of the entrepreneur, between March 15 and June 15, 2025, traffic restrictions are established for vehicles with a mass greater than 7.5 tonnes, between kilometers 81+487 and 96+868, except for public transport and local economic activities.
