Nicușor Dan: “If the elections were today, without discussion George Simion would be in the second round”

Nicuşor Dan, an independent candidate for the presidential elections, considers the candidate gold, George Simion, a favorite to enter the second round. The mayor of the capital said that the fight for the other place in the final is given between him, the Coalition candidate, Crin Antonescu, and the independent candidate Victor Ponta.
Nicuşor Dan was asked on Saturday at the Insider Insider on Prima TV, with whom he struggles for entering the presidential final, with Victor Ponta or with Crin Antonescu, considering that a few days ago he presented a survey in which Ponta was of second position.
“This was before the episode with the Danube, with the Iron Gates. There are people in whom I trust, sociologists with whom I worked, who before that they put their hand in the fire that Victor Ponta is before Crin Antonescu. Further on we will do surveys, that is, we started doing a survey but who has not yet come out.”
At the same time, Nicușor Dan was asked if he was considered a favorite to enter with George Simion in the presidential final.
“If the elections were today, without discussion George Simion would be in the second round,” said Nicuşor Dan.
Asked if the president of Gold would enter the second round with 30% of the votes, Nicuşor Dan replied: “Probably yes. And the fight for the second place is between me, Crin Antonescu and Victor Ponta.”
At the same time, Nicușor Dan categorically excluded the option to withdraw from the presidential race in favor of another candidate.
“At this moment it is over, we go in a straight line to the first round,” said the general mayor.
In a poll conducted for Hotnews by Atlasintel, published on April 15, Crin Antonescu would overcome Nicușor Dan in the voting options. Even if the two arrive in the presidential final, the candidate of the governing alliance is favorite. George Simion takes the most votes in the second round in a single scenario.

Another soldier, transmitted one day away, by IRSOP, showed that if the elections were held next Sunday, the best placed candidate would be George Simion (31% of the voting intentions), followed by Nicușor Dan (28%). At a distance, the third place is occupied by Victor Ponta (18%), while Crin Antonescu ranks only on the 4th place.
