Not only Christmas Eve. Poles want free also on Good Friday [SONDAŻ]

The president signed the law on free Christmas Eve
President Andrzej Duda signed the act on free Christmas Eve and decided to send it to the Constitutional Tribunal in subsequent control mode. These are Due to the comments of employee organization that the regulation discriminates against trade employees – said the head of KPRP Małgorzata Paprocka.
Paprocka said that the amendment to the Act on non -working days will be inspected by the Constitutional Tribunal due to doubts that were raised primarily during talks at the Presidential Palace with representatives of employers and employees. She added that during them the issues of the lack of consultation of the Act and the surprise of both parties were raised with these provisions.

“Employee organizations, First of all, “Solidarity” emphasized the discriminatory nature of the law towards employees employed in trade. Therefore, the president decided that the Act would be inspected by the Constitutional Tribunal, but in subsequent mode, i.e. the Act comes into force, but in those aspects that cause great concern for social partners, he will be directed to the Constitutional Tribunal ” – said Paprocka.
At the end of November, the Sejm adopted an amendment to the Act on non -working days, according to which Christmas Eve from next year will be a day off from work for all employees, including employees of commercial facilities. In addition, the amendment predicts that from 2025 three Sundays preceding Christmas Eve will be commercial.
The study was carried out by the Pollster Research Institute on March 31 – April 1 at the sample of 1007 adult Poles.
