The United States did not support the resolution of the UN General Assembly, condemning the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine


“The current resolution repeats statements regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war, which the United States consider useless to promote the case of the world,” the statement said.

At the same time, the United States expressed confidence that the strong resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian war “is of the most important importance” for members of the Council of Europe and the United States.

Context

The resolution, the text of which was published on the UN website, was introduced by Lithuania and Luxembourg, the vote took place on April 16. The document was supported by 105 countries, 33 abstained, nine opposed.
