The 20th anniversary of the referendum on the unification of the region is celebrated in the Krasnoyarsk Territory
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, exactly 20 years ago, a referendum was held at which a decision was made to enter Evenki Autonomous Okrug and Taimyr (Dolgan-Nenets) Autonomous Okrug in the region. It took place on April 17, 2005.
The event became a significant event not only for the region, but for the whole of Russia. A special role in the preparation and implementation of this large -scale process was played by deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the region.
The speaker of the regional parliament Alexei Dodatko noted that the whole history of the United Territory shows that the decision was correct and necessary.
“During the unification, we felt the effect of synergy, when the economic potential of the regions has developed, when a single legal space, organizational and managerial structure, formed throughout the Yenisei meridian. Optimization of management, budget processes, the elimination of barriers made it possible to more effectively implement a socio-economic policy, and, ultimately, led to an increase in the welfare of people, ”said Alexei Dodatko.
It was the deputies of the Legislative Assembly that appealed to the president with a proposal to hold a referendum. The charter of the United Territory and forecast was prepared socio-economic development of the territory after unification.
“Looking back, we see: two decades confirm the fidelity of decisions made. These years were filled with daily work, and we still have a lot of joint work, because in the north of the region, grandiose investment projects are being implemented, ”said the speaker.

“Our region has a powerful industrial and scientific base, is ready to work as a single team. Together with Evenkia and Taimyr on the scale of Russian Severov, he can “say” his weighty word, is able to develop economic activity, economics, improve the life of our countrymen living in these very difficult, but also promising and glorious territories. And Taimyr and Evenkia will always make their significant contribution to the development of our mighty Krasnoyarsk Territory, ”the deputy said.
Deputy Valery Wengo recalls that the news of the possible unification of three regions into one for northerners was a surprise. There was a lot of time for preparation, and it was enough, so the referendum was on top.
“Many people lived there in an information vacuum. Someone generally believed that the Communist Party was still in power in power and could not understand what was at stake. They did not even know that they were once part of the region, that then we somehow separated and now we will unite again. There are features of voting in the territory, district commissions flew there on helicopters, came on snowmobiles, even on deer teams. At the same time, even an ordinary reindeer herder, an ordinary state employee needed some guarantees. And we all the time said that enlargement is done primarily for the purpose of accelerated socio-economic development, strengthening the economic, political, scientific potential of the region. The development of both coal deposits and a world -class project “East Oil” began, all this happened as we said 20 years ago, ”the deputy recalls.
