Poland and Canada want to cooperate. Already after a conversation of finance ministers

“Care about transatlantic relations and cooperation in the field of defense. These are the main topics I talked about today with the Minister of Finance Canada François-Shippe Champagne “-wrote the finance minister Andrzej Domański on his Facebook profile.
He emphasized that Canada is one of the key partners of Europe.
“We have expressed the will to strengthen cooperation Both in bilateral relations and in the framework of organizations that we lead this year: Poland of the European Union and Canada to the G7 group. That is why we will strengthen our economic relations, including trade” – the minister pointed out.
After Donald Trump unleashed a trade war with almost the whole world, you can see a new field of international cooperation between countries that were not very close to each other before. Canada was one of the first countries in the crosshairs of the new US president.

Andrzej Domański recently admitted that although Poland will not be directly affected by customs, it is a risk that the current forecasts regarding the growth of GDPs will not work and it will be a bit worse.
This year, the previous Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Poland. In January, the head of the Polish government Donald Tusk announced deepening cooperation in the area of nuclear energy. Indicated that Westinghouse – the main technology supplier for the first Polish atomic power plant – is currently in the hands of Canadian capital.
Commercial relations between Poland and Canada are developing and stable, although they are not the most intensive on a global scale. Both countries cooperate on various levels, and trade between them uses the CETA agreement in force since 2017 (economic and commercial agreement between the EU and Canada).
