The imbalances in the expected energy system for Easter days could also affect the traffic of trains. CFR has been notified by an energy distributor to adjust the transformers parameters, to prevent current interruptions in stations and locomotives.

“In view of the evolution of electricity consumption at the SEN (National Energy System – no), corroborated with the evolution of powers installed in prosumers, as well as with limited possibilities regarding the voltage adjustment – reactive power, to reduce the risk of triggering transformers from stations 110/27 kV through the maximum voltage protection, The protections mentioned at a value superior to that of 126 kV.

“The measure in question has the role of preventing the triggering of transformers from stations 110/27 kV related to CFR, a situation that will lead to the voltage remaining of the electricity supply infrastructure, respectively to stop the train gaskets.

If in the stations in the CFR management, the value of the maximum voltage protection adjustment is transformed 110/27 kV is set to a 126 KV voltage limit, this value will remain unchanged regardless of the operating range ”, recommends the distribution company.

CFR representatives are asked to confirm in writing the implementation of these measures.

Transelectrica and the Ministry of Energy have already developed a plan so that there are no power feathers on Easter days

We remind that for Easter days there are expected unprecedented imbalances in the Romanian energy system. This is because the consumption will descend to minimal historical levels, and the energy production from photovoltaic panels will be high.

In addition, because Catholic and Orthodox Easter overlap, there is no possibility to export excessive electricity, as consumption is low throughout Europe.

The representatives of the Ministry of Energy and those of Transelectrica have already taken measures to eliminate the risk of generalized power feathers.
