The four people were detained for 24 hours in a criminal case aimed at offenses, disturbance of public order and peace, according to representatives of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Court.
The Bucharest police did four searches in Bucharest and Ilfov on Tuesday, in the case of violence produced on March 9, in front of the Central Electoral Bureau in Sector 3 of the Capital, after the BEC has invalidated the candidacy of Călin Georgescu.
Following them, the prosecutors began the criminal prosecution of four persons.
A man is investigated for outrage, destruction and disturbance of public order and peace, another for outrage and disturbance of public order and peace, the third man is investigated for destruction and disturbance of public order and peace. At the same time, a woman is investigated for disturbing public order and peace.
“Based on the evidence administered, it was established that, on the night of March 9-10, 2025, the defendants participated in the protest carried out in front of the headquarters of the Central Electoral Bureau, circumstance in which they threw a blunt objects in the direction of the law enforcement, some of these objects hitting the gendarmes in the device, they overturned and degraded the vehicle, Public silence, ”said prosecutors, quoted by News.ro.
Prosecutors also said that other evidence is administered in this case to establish all the consequences of the actions of the four. Also, research continues to identify all people who have committed similar facts in that protest.
The four persons were detained for 24 hours, to be presented to the District 3 Court with a preventive arrest proposal for 30 days.
