The first such sentence in Russia. Putin's forces soldier was convicted


A soldier of the 39th Brigade of the Red Banner's Motorized Guard was found guilty of surrender (Article 352.1 of the Penal Code), another attempt to surrender (Article 30 Part 1, Article 352.1 of the Criminal Code), as well as desertion (Part 3, Article 338 of the Criminal Code) from his military unit. Ivaniszyn was also deprived of the junior sergeant.

During arguments, 16 years of imprisonment for the accused were requested. Defense requested military acquittal, emphasizing that the crimes were not proven. Ivaniszyn himself did not plead guilty.

Roman Ivaniszyn is a mining brigadist from Sakhalin. He was mobilized for war and served in the 39th Independent Guardian brigade of scorers motorized in the Donetsk region in Ukraine.

The military was to try to escape from the territory of the unit twice. The second attempt took place on June 10, 2023 and was successful. The Russian surrendered to Ukrainian troops near the village of Stepnoje in the Wołnowasski region.
