On Tuesday, the Polish arms company WB signed a document with the South Korean company Hanwha Aerospace, which will enable Poland to produce CGR-080 missile shells used in the Homar-K launchers. As part of the document in Poland, a factory of these missiles will be created.

The document signed by representatives of the WB and Hanwha Aerospace concerns the production of CGR-080 rocket missiles for K239 Chunmoo rocket artillery systems, which are based on Polish Homar-K launchers.
The deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense Paweł Bejda reminded during the ceremony about the executive agreement signed in April last year for 72 chunmoo launchers. As he said, 12 of them will be produced in Korea, but 60 in Poland. As he said, the Polish government was assured that the missiles would leave the production line within three years.
The deputy minister emphasized that the Ministry of National Defense puts the “equality sign” between the state and the private arms industry. “These industries can work together, complement each other, but of course also compete,” he said. “This has a multitude of meaning – firstly, in the event of a conflict we have production here, on the spot, and quickly is provided by ammunition, secondly it is an element of deterrence,” the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense pointed out.
In addition – according to Bejda – the purchase of Chunmoo launchers and missiles are interested in NATO countries, which are the missiles to produce, and then Poland will also sell.
Bejda, emphasizing the importance of Polish-Korean cooperation, expressed the hope that soon in Poland, a 290 km rocket produced by South Korea will also be produced.
The President of the Management Board of WB Electronics Piotr Wojciechowski estimated that Tuesday's ceremony is an expression of the ministry's “visionary thought”. “This wise cooperation we have with Hanwh Aerospace with the full support of the Ministry of National Defense gives a chance that we will not only produce these products here, develop and export them,” said Wojciechowski.
As he said, the company is negotiating with five poviats regarding the establishment of the factory.
In turn, the representative of Hanwha Aerospace Billy Boohwan Lee emphasized that the company would work on the polonization of other projects, including K9 tanks.
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, also referred to the document. As he wrote, this is an example of consistent building by the ability to scare and defend the Polish Army. “Thanks to the technology transfer to our industry, new missiles will also be used by other rocket systems that are equipped with the Polish Army,” wrote the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
Homar -K is one of the most important programs in Polish artillery – these are K239 Chunmoo rocket launchers, mounted on Polish Jelcz trucks; A total of 290 launchers were ordered. Lobbles are structures similar to American Himars launchers, with successes used by Ukrainians defending against Russia. Like the Himars, lobsters can shoot different types of rockets, including ballistic missiles with a range of up to 300 km. CGR-080 missiles, whose production applies to the document signed on Tuesday, have a range of approx. 80 km (PAP)
