Democrats want to strengthen Ukraine. They press Donald Trump

According to a copy of the act, which was seen by the agency, Gregory Meeks, a leading democrat in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, introduced the act on the support of Kiev, which would provide funds for the safety and reconstruction of Ukraine and impose strict sanctions on Russia.
According to journalists, efforts in Congress reflect the growing concern of legislators from both parties with the fate of Ukraine, because Donald Trump adopted a “more conciliation position” towards Moscow.
Congress advisers who helped write the law said that their goal was to influence negotiations on all provisions regarding Ukraine, which would eventually go through the Congress.
“Of course, this act will be part legislative discussion” – said one of the advisers.
Donald Trump accused the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelanski and former US president Joe Biden of “permission to start war”.
