CFR SA announced who will modernize the railway between Craiova and Filiași, a contract of over two billion lei

CFR Infrastructure has designated the association of companies that will rehabilitate the 38 km of railway between Craiova and Filiași, from the 100 Bucharest – Timișoara bus. The winning financial offer was 2.07 billion lei, excluding VAT. The expected duration is 12 months for design and 42 months for execution.

The fastest trains make 27-28 minutes between Craiova and Filiași, and those that stop everywhere do 52-53 minutes.

What CFR infrastructure says

CFR SA designated the association of Trackworks – consisting of “SC Alstom Transport SA” and “Terna Tourist Technical and Maritime Societe Anonyme” – as a winner of the public tender procedure for the design and execution of the rehabilitation works between Craiova and Filiași (between km 248+760 and km 286+735).

The financial offer of the Trackworks association consisting of SC Alstom Transport SA and Terna Tourist Technical and Maritime Societe Anonyme was 2,037.420.531.88 lei excluding VAT, the criterion applied being the best value for money.

The public procurement contract will be concluded by both parties at the end of the legal period of appeals.

The source of financing will be ensured from non -reimbursable external funds through the Transport Program (PT) 2021 – 2027, from the state budget through the budget of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as well as from other legally constituted sources, within the limits approved annually with this destination, according to the public investment programs approved according to the law.

The duration for the elaboration of the technical project and the execution of the works will be 117 months, of which:

• estimated duration of design and execution of works – 54 months, respectively: 12 months design and 42 months execution of works;
• Guarantee period – 60 months;
• Duration of activities after approval of the final reception – 3 months.

The total estimated value of the contract for the design and execution of the works related to the investment objective “Rehabilitation of the railway line Craiova-Drobeta Turnu Severin-Caransebeș, part of the Eastern/East-Mediterranean Corridor”-Lot 1: Craiova-Filiași, including similar services/works, is included in the range 2.282.592.414.03 2,717.242.997.99 lei excluding VAT.

What works will be done

• Modernization of stations (including movement dumps) on this line, improving the conditions for users of railway transport;
• Replacement of bridges, bridges, repair of the drainage system, improvement of terraces;
• Construction of maintenance roads along the railway (where no public roads are available);
• The rehabilitation/modernization of the buildings of the passenger stations, including the constructions of the pedestrian walkways and/or tunnels, the lifting of the level of the platforms, in accordance with the European standards in force;
• Installation of sound -absorbing panels and/or alternative solutions to reduce the noise level;
• New electronic centralization installations, in stations, and introduction of ERTMS safety system (ETCS level 2 + GSM-R);
• Reducing the maximum value of the slopes on the sections where it exceeds 18 ‰
• Ensuring interoperability by implementing the sti, especially in terms of axle load (22.5 t), loading (C), length of lines in stations and movement dumps, facilities for people with disabilities;
