Accident between a car and a bicycle in Turda. The driver was fined for entering the cycle lane, and the cyclist for being drunk

An accident caused by a female driver who entered the bicycle path with her car, in the municipality of Turda, Cluj county, ended with the woman being penalized, as well as a cyclist. She was fined for leaving the vehicle lane, and the cyclist for being under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

The road accident took place on Sunday, around 16:00, on Ştefan cel Mare street in Turda, involving a car and a bicycle, reports News.ro. Police investigations show that a 19-year-old woman from Alba County hit a 55-year-old man with her car, who was riding a bicycle on the track intended for these vehicles.

“Following the tests carried out with the breathalyzer, in the case of the cyclist, an alcohol blood level of 0.40 mg of pure alcohol in the exhaled air resulted. He was penalized with a fine of 1,215 lei, and the driver's right to drive vehicles was suspended for 90 days,” Cluj Police officials inform.

A medical team was sent to the scene of the accident, which checked the health of the cyclist, the man refusing to be taken to the hospital. The police are continuing their investigations to establish all the circumstances in which the event occurred.
