Ke Eva Hrnczirova spokeswoman announced that the Commission and the Polish authorities had on Tuesday a “constructive technical meeting” regarding national funds that Poland would take to remedy the disturbing tendency to the emergence of bird flu foci in its territory.
Actions will be taken in two voivodships, where the situation raises anxiety, Mazowieckie and Greater Poland.
The spokeswoman added that thanks to the national funds, the EC will not introduce any additional funds at the EU level yet. However, this can change if the situation worsens.
Poland will officially present the funds of the Commission and all Member States and implement them to stop the spread of the disease.

Last Friday, the European Commission spokeswoman Eva Hrnczirova reported that the EC would make decisions this week regarding the “extraordinary means” of some areas in the: Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Łódź, Mazowiecki, Warmian-Masurian and Greater Poland voivodships.
Over the past two months in Poland, 53 bonfires of bird flu have been confirmed in the Mazowieckie and Greater Poland provinces, and in the whole country a total of 73. Eva Hrnczirova stated last Friday that although the disease also occurs in other EU countries, in Poland the situation is “particularly unfavorable”.
