Bird flu in Poland is worried about the EU. “For now, national funds are sufficient”

According to EU law, if the bird flu virus is found, “animals must be knocked on the poultry farm to stop the spread of the virus”; From the farms in which the virus was discovered, you can not sell meat.

It is known, however, that the actions will be taken in two voivodships, where the most bonfires of the disease were recorded, i.e. Mazowieckie and Greater Poland. As the EC informed earlier this week, 53 bonfires of bird flu in the Mazowieckie and Greater Poland voivodships have been confirmed in Poland in Poland, and a total of 73 in the whole country.

Hrnczirzova pointed out that the activities carried out by Poland will be subject to regular supervision. Poland will also have to introduce protective zones – these are determined within a radius of 3 km around the farm, where the departments were found, and it is in this area that special measures are taken. The area within a 10 km radius is considered a zone with increased risk. As part of the designated zones, e.g. poultry and poultry products cannot be transported and special hygiene rules on farms must be used.

The spokeswoman added that thanks to the national funds, the EC will not introduce any additional funds at the EU level yet. However, this can change if the situation worsens and the funds used by the Polish authorities will prove ineffective.

Poland will officially present the funds of the Commission and all Member States and implement them to stop the spread of the disease.

The commission announced that “it would carefully follow the development of the situation” and maintain strict contact with the Polish authorities. This issue will also be analyzed at the next meeting of the EC for plants, animals, food and feed (PAFF) at the end of April. Next week, Poland will be visited by the European Veterinary Advisory Team (Euvet); The visit will start on Tuesday and will last until Thursday.
