The “Revolutionary Class” group has announced that it is responsible for the explosion of April 11 from the headquarters of Hellenic Train railway operator and has made this attack on the 2023 railway accident, 57 people died, reports Reuters.
The Greek police said Monday that the anti-terrorist unit is investigating what it seems to be an unknown guerrilla group, after the “revolutionary class” has claimed the last week's bomb explosion and another last year in a statement published on the Athens.indymedia site.
The explosion of April 11 caused minor damage without hurting people. The police evacuated the area after two media institutions received warning calls on attack.
In his statement, the group stated that he reacts to insufficient investments and the safety issues of the railway, which was privatized during the Greek debt crisis from 2009-2018. Hellenic Train, a Ferrovie Dello Stato unit in Italy, operates passenger and freight routes in Greece.
The group also claimed the 2024 attack on the Ministry of Labor of Athens, which also did not cause any injury after the police evacuated a warning.
The group said that he dedicates both attacks to the Palestinians affected by the Gaza War.
The Greek anti-terrorist police are examining the claim and says that, most likely, we are dealing with a new guerrilla group, but does not exclude links with active groups in the past, said police spokesman, Constantina Dimoglidou, for ERT State Television.
Small -scale attacks on companies, police, politicians and embassies are common in Greece, which has a long history of political violence from left and anarchist groups. On October 31, a bomb exploded in an apartment in Athens, killing a man and hurting a woman.
