Mario Vargas Llosa is dead
Llosa was born in 1936 in the city of Arequipa in the south of Peru. The novels “City and Dogs”, “Green House” and “Conversation in the cathedral” published in the 1960s. In 1990 he ran for president of Peru, but lost in the second round with Alberto Fujimori. He was a winner of numerous literary awards, including the Nobel Prize in 2010, as well as a member of the French Academy.
Mario Vargas Llosa, winner of the Nobel Prize Literary Award and one of the most influential Latin American writers, died on Sunday in Lima.
