Immigration officers and analysts express the growing skepticism towards Trump administration plans regarding the deportation of a million immigrants in one year. “Washington Post” cites the opinions of experts who consider this goal unattainable, if not even impossible to realize.

The daily emphasizes that the deportation of a million people during the year would significantly exceed earlier statistics. The current record is over 400,000 deportation during the presidency of Barack Obama.

“According to analysts, available data indicate that the assumed goal seems unreal, if not impossible to achieve, taking into account the current financing, level of employment and the fact that most immigrants have the right to court trial before deportation,” says Washington Post.

Officials are one of the considered to increase the number of deportations, is to find ways to explode a part of 1.4 million immigrants, for whom the final deportation orders have already been issued. The problem is that they cannot be deported because their countries refuse to accept them.

The administration is negotiating with nearly 30 third countries. He counts on the possibility of sending “thousands” of immigrants to these countries, directing them to Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama, among others.

“Trump officials have created a media spectacle, sending hundreds of detainees to the prison complex in El Salvador and to the Guantanamo Bay sea base in Cuba. However, they are a negligible fraction of people staying illegally in the USA. (…) Most of the 11 million immigrants have the right to hear in an immigration court before deportation, this also applies to people who have committed a crime. With current arrears, this process may take months or even years ” – forecasts the Washington daily.

As “WP” adds, even the location of 1.4 million people covered by unprecedented deportation orders can be an extremely difficult task.
