The Russians attacked the sums with two ballistic missiles, which, according to the authorities, were filled with cassette ammunition. The hit took place after 10 local time (9 am in Poland) in the city center, when people went or returned from the church, where Palm Sunday services took place.
The bestial attack was also commented on by representatives of Donald Trump's administration. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the event as “terrifying”. In turn, a special envoy for Ukraine, retired general Keith Kellogg assessed that “the attack exceeds all limits of decency.”

On April 13, the Memorial Day of the Victims of the Katyn massacre is celebrated. On this occasion, both the president and the prime minister took the floor. – Soviets in cold blood murdered over 22,000 Polish officers – soldiers who defended their homeland. A brutal slaughter was made at Stalin's order. It was genocide. They were able to murder them, but they were never managed to tear them out of their families and nation – said President Andrzej Duda in Krakow.
– This evil is still tangibly visible. And just like for centuries, this is the evil today. It threatens our neighbors, threatens peace, threatens what we feel every month more and more severely, Poland and Europe. This is the same evil – said the prime minister during the celebration of the 85th anniversary of the Katyn massacre.
