Unique situation in the play-out of the Superligi: out of the 10 participants, only two teams- lighthouse and SEPS -they submitted their file for the UEFA licensing and could dispute the Dam for Conference League. The irony of fate: both bands are, at this moment, on dams … but for relegation!

The teams are divided into three categories: those who have submitted their file for the UEFA license, those who preferred to opt only for the superligation license and the clubs that cannot participate in the European Cups for financial reasons, either in insolvency or in accordance with preventive.

If Sepsi or Lighthouse does not finish on one of the first four positions in the play-out (7-10 places), then the 3rd place in the Superliga will go to the league preliminaries, without disputes the dam, but the situation can be more complicated!

Play-out team situation on UEFA license:

  • Hermannstadt – insolvency, cannot apply for UEFA license

  • Ploiești Oil – Preventive Concorded, cannot apply for UEFA license

  • UTA Arad – did not submit the documents for UEFA license

  • FC Botosani – did not submit the documents for UEFA license

  • Galati steel – did not submit the documents for UEFA license

  • SEPS – has the right to participate in European competitions

  • Poli Iasi – Preventive Concorded, cannot apply for UEFA license

  • lighthouse – has the right to participate in European Cups

  • Gloria Buzău – did not submit the documents for UEFA license

  • Unirea Slobozia – did not submit the documents for UEFA license

  • The preventive agreement is a legal procedure by which a company in financial difficulty, but which is not yet insolvency, may ask for protection from creditors to reorganize their activity and avoid bankruptcy.

  • In short: It is an agreement approved by the court between the company and the creditors, to be given time to recover, without entering directly into the insolvency.

Limit data for granting UEFA + license when you may be appealed

  • “The commission for granting the club license must communicate the judgments pronounced on the requests of the clubs for granting the UEFA license until April 17, 2025 ”.

What the Play-out ranking looks like at this time:

From the play-off, only Dinamo does not have the right to participate in the European cups, the “dogs” being insolvency. Thus, out of a total of 16 teams from superlig, 9, more than half!, They have no right to participate in the European Cups.

The situation could be more complicated, with the 5th place in the Superliga in the preliminaries Conference League. How could this happen? First of all, Hermannstadt, an insolvency team, has to win the Romanian Cup, where they will put in the semifinals over Rapid. The other semifinal is the Lighthouse – CFR Cluj.

If the Sibiu will award their Cup, the place of the Europa League It will be distributed to the best ranked team in Superliga, not the finalist of the Romanian Cup.

Secondly, Dinamo should finish on one of the first four positions, which would automatically propel the team on the 5th place directly in the preliminaries for Conference League.
