The United States Ambassador to Kiev, Bridget Brink, will leave his post at a time when President Donald Trump operates a proximity to Russia to end the Ukraine war, the State Department confirmed on Thursday, according to France Presse and Agerpres.

Bridget Brink, a career diplomat, was appointed by former president Joe Biden and arrived in Kiev in May 2022, a few months after the Russian invasion that caused the United States to provide billions of dollars.

It is normal for the ambassadors to leave after a few years, especially in the conflict areas where they do not bring their families, but its departure intervenes while the US president has completely changed the policy against Ukraine in relation to the former American administration.

“Yes, it will come back,” the press of the State Department, Tammy Buce, told the press.

Bridget Brink was an ambassador “three years during the war. In these three years, she has achieved an extraordinary performance and we want a lot of success,” said the spokesman.

“We know that we are working on the conclusion of this war and this is our goal,” she added.

The Republican President, who during his election campaign promised to resolve the Ukrainian conflict “in 24 hours”, operated a spectacular Moscow approach since his return to the White House in January.

Under the American pressure, Kiev accepted in mid -March an unconditional cessation of hostilities for 30 days. Russia rejected this initiative, but accepted a more limited armistice in the Black Sea and in the blows on the energy infrastructure, whose implementation remains uncertain.
