The case is open, we constantly insist on the position that five television stations should take part in the debate of candidates – the spokeswoman for the staff of Karol Nawrocki, Emilia Wierzbicki, told PAP. PiS MP Adam Andruszkiewicz said that Nawrocki is to appear on the debate of TV Republic.
On Thursday, TVP presented the principles of “Pre -election debate 2025”, which would take place on Friday, April 11 at 20 in Końskie between Karol Nawrocki and Ko Rafał Trzaskowski's candidate. TVP, TVN24 and Polsat News – stations that will broadcast the debate – they designated as leaders: Joanna Dunikowska -Paź (TVP), Grzegorz Kajdanowicz (TVN 24) and Piotr Witwicki (Polsat News).
The staff of Nawrocki in response to the TVP letter posted an entry on the platform X. “We want a debate with Rafał Trzaskowski tomorrow in Końskie. We want it to be organized by 5 television – TVP in liquidation, Polsat, TVN, TV Republika and WPOLSK24 – emphasized.
Also on Thursday evening, Telewizja Republika posted information that on Friday at 18.50 invites you to an open presidential debate, in which “we hope will be attended by candidates: Karol Nawrocki and Rafał Trzaskowski”. “Invitations were sent to the staffs,” he added.
On Friday, a PiS MP and a member of the Nawrocki staff, Adam Andruszkiewicz on Telewizja Republika to the journalist's attention that this station at 18.50 organizes a debate on the market in Końskie, to which all television invites and both bars said: “We invite you, Karol Nawrocki will be.”
Staff spokeswoman Emilia Wierzbicki asked by PAP whether Nawrocki would appear on Friday at the debate organized in Końskie, which is to be kept by journalists: TVP, TVN and Polsat replied that the matter of all debates that are organized in Końskie is open. “We are waiting for an answer. We are constantly insisting with the position that five television stations should take part in the debate of candidates. The matter is open, the ball is in the game,” she said.
On Friday before noon, some media reported that there was the consent of both staffs for the debate at 20. Information was denied on Platform X the Chief of Nawrocki Staff Paweł Szefernaker.
“Note! I deny the information appearing in the media. The presidential debate in the formula presented by TVP, TVN and Polsat has not been accepted by us. The formula of this debate excludes millions of Poles. We want to debate 5 television! We do not rule out no one! We want to debate fair play!” – wrote Szefernaker on the X. platform.
The head of the Trzaskowski Staff Wioletta Paprocka-Ślusarska on Thursday on X reported that the staff received the scenario of the Friday debate at 20. “We do not set any conditions. We accept it in full. See you tomorrow at 20.00 in Końskie,” she wrote.
On Wednesday, Ko Rafał Trzaskowski's candidate offered the candidate Karol Nawrocki, supported by PiS, which would take place this Friday, April 11, in Końskie (Świętokrzyskie). Nawrocki replied that he was ready for debate; However, he set a condition – all television should take part in it. On the same day, a dispute over the place and the date of the meeting on the organization of the debate broke out between the staffs of the candidates.
On Thursday, a meeting on TVP with the participation of Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki's staffs ended without specific arrangements. TVN and Polsat News also took part in it, NO Telewizja Republika and WPOLSCE24 were not allowed.
Wioletta Paprocka-Ślusarska, who managed the staff of Trzaskowski, wrote at X after the meeting that “in connection with the constant interruption and the inability to learn about the conditions of the debate, we agreed that television would send the staffs proposals of the rules of email debate.” And she added: “We are waiting for them and we are waiting tomorrow in Końskie!”
Szefernaker said after the meeting that there was no consent of Trzaskowski's staff to broaden the format of this debate to five television; Nawrocki's staff wants – as he explains – “Out of respect for all Poles” to expand the format of the debate with Telewizja Republika and Television WPOLSK24.
