Without specific arrangements regarding the debate, which would occur on Friday in Końskie, a meeting at TVP with the participation of Rafał Trzaskowski and Karol Nawrocki's staffs ended. TVN and Polsat News also took part in it, NO Telewizja Republika and WPOLSCE24 were not allowed.
On Thursday, the staff of the presidential candidates were to discuss the debate proposed by the KO candidate with Nawrocki, a candidate supported by PiS; It would happen on Friday in Końskie (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship) at 20.
As Wioletta Paprocka-Ślusarska, who was the head of Trzaskowski's staff at X after the meeting, “in connection with the constant interruption and the inability to learn about the conditions of the debate, we agreed that television would send the staffs proposals for the rules of email debate.” And she added: “We are waiting for them and we are waiting tomorrow in Końskie!”
The chief of staff of Karol Nawrocki Paweł Szefernaker said after the meeting that there was no consent of Trzaskowski's staff to broaden the format of this debate to five television; On Wednesday, TVP, TVN and Polsat declared their readiness to broadcast the debate in Końskie. Nawrocki's staff wants – as he explains – “out of respect for all Poles” to expand the format of the debate with Telewizja Republika and Television WPOLSK24.
“We proposed five television and we hope that Rafał Trzaskowski's staff will agree. At the moment he does not agree to the format of five television (…). Only TVP, Polsat and TVN, they are afraid of the Republic, WPOLSCE24 and therefore they did not want to expand this format,” said Szefernaker. “This is a lack of respect for people who watch other television,” he assessed.
As he argued: “We do not want to eliminate anyone, we do not want to eliminate TVN, TVP, Polsat (…) we want there to be five journalists from five television (…). We hope that Trzaskowski's staff is not of the stumps and will want a debate of five television.”
Some of Nawrocki Staff, including PiS MP Przemysław Czarnek, according to previous findings, waited for talks on “neutral” ground in the Foksal press center. As Czarnek explained, this was intended to dispel any doubts about any “donations” before the debate.
The condition for organizing a debate for Nawrocki staff is that five television, including Republic and WPLSK24, participate in it. Representatives of both of these stations appeared at the headquarters of TVP, but they failed to join the meeting.
On Wednesday, Ko Rafał Trzaskowski's candidate offered the candidate Karol Nawrocki, supported by PiS, which would take place this Friday, April 11, in Końskie (Świętokrzyskie). Nawrocki replied that he was ready for debate; However, he set a condition – all television should take part in it. On the same day, a dispute over the place and the date of the meeting on the organization of the debate (PAP) broke out between the staff of the candidates.
