Due to the growing activity of cyber-ons during tax settlements, the Ministry of Finance issued a warning regarding false emails that are aimed at extorting personal data. False messages, impersonating official institutions, They inform about the alleged overpaid of personal income tax.
The Ministry of Finance emphasizes that it does not communicate with taxpayers in such a way and never informs about the verification of PIT declarations and overpayments via e-mails. Fraudsters, using phishing technique, ask for confirmation of identification data and a bank account number.

In case of doubt, the ministry recommends contact with the helpline of the National Tax Administration at 22 330 03 30, as well as reporting incidents on the CERT platform, dealing with cybersecurity.
To obtain reliable information about tax overfills, the Ministry of Finance indicates the tax e-office (E-US) available at taxes.gov.pl, where taxpayers can safely log in via a government platform and track tax refund status. Information can also be obtained directly at the Tax Office.
