The European Union suspends duties on the USA. This is the answer to Trump's decision
Earlier on Thursday, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced the suspension of retaliation duties on the US for 90 days. This decision is related to the suspension for the same period of American duties by Donald Trump.
– We acknowledged the statement of President Trump. We want to give negotiations a chance – emphasized von der Leyen. She noted, which is why the retaliation duties will be suspended for 90 days.
The chairwoman of the EC pointed out, however, that if the negotiations from the USA are not satisfying, customs will come into force. She added that work is underway on subsequent duties.
“As I said earlier, all options remain on the table,” Von der Leyen declared.
