The Yenisei basin water administration (Rosvodresursu) until May 2 of this year retained the mode of operation with average daily costs of 2900-3200 cubic meters per second for the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station.
The current regime was established from March 3, the decision on its extension was made based on the results of the analysis of the hydrological situation on Lake Baikal, Angara and Yenisei. During March, the average water consumption through the hydraulic units of the Boguchansky hydroelectric power station amounted to 2970 cubic meters per second, the station worked in the established mode.
In accordance with the approved schedule in the last decade of March at the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station, the planned overhaul of hydraulic unit No. 2 with a 333 MW with a capacity of 333 MW was completed. Complex work on the unit began in January, and lasted 72 days. Specialists repaired guide bearings of the hydrogenerator and hydraulic turbine, repair of the rotor and inspection of the turbine stator, maintenance of auxiliary equipment.
Data of the flaw detector of fasteners were obtained, overhaul of the oil tank and final tests were overhaul. In parallel with these work at the hydraulic unit No. 4, the current repair was held lasting 26 days, in the last decade of March, the repair of the unit No. 3 began.

The level of the Boguchansky reservoir on April 10 was at the mark of 207.07 m (above the Baltic Sea), the level of the hangar in the Lower Buehf at the mark of 138.44 m. Specialists of the laboratory of hydraulic structures of the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station recorded the beginning of the growth of the side joine to the station. The ice situation on the reservoir is stable – the main water area is covered with ice, opposite the concrete dams of the hollow up to 150 m wide.
According to the preliminary forecast, the floods in the upper reaches of the Angara will begin in the last decade of April, and at most Angara tributaries it will be within normal limits. The Irkutsk and the Central Research Institute of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring recorded several temperature records in March, the cause of which was the removal of warm air mass from the territory of Kazakhstan and Western Siberia.
The opening of the Yenisei in the area of the confluence of the Angara occurred eleven days earlier than the average annual terms. According to the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Roshydromet), water reserves in the Snezhnoye cover are in most areas of the Baikalia and in the Lower Angara region above normal, in the southern Angara region – near the norm.
The team of the Boguchanskaya hydroelectric power station began preparations for the upcoming flood in February. The station specialists regularly check the state of hydraulic structures, analyze the hydrological situation in the territories around the hydroelectric power station and constant monitoring the dynamics of the water content. The main task of the power engineers during the flood period is to ensure the readiness of hydraulic structures for taking large volumes of water and the sustainable functioning of the equipment.
