The company that owns Formula 1 in the portfolio, Liberty Media has exceeded a last important obstacle in the process of purchasing commercial rights for Motogp.

Liberty Media has reached an agreement for the purchase of Dorna, the company that holds the commercial rights of the World Motorcycle Championship!

John Malone, the billionaire holding Liberty Media beat Dorna Sports, after defeating Motogp on TKO (the company holding the UFC and WWE) and Qatar Sports Investments (a company that controls PSG).

The European Commission will officially approve the transaction on July 1

The transaction is estimated at $ 3.8 billion, and now the company must obtain the approval of the European Commission. The transaction check started in December last year, and the Commission announced that it will issue a decision on July 1 this year, according to Sportal.BG, which cites Reuters Agency

According to the latest information, which came on sources for the Reuters Agency, the European Commission has decided to approve the transaction, without requesting additional materials or changes from Liberty Media. The investigation was intended to establish whether the transaction complies with the European Union legislation.
