The administration of US President Donald Trump takes into account drone attacks on drug cards in Mexico, to combat cross -border drug trafficking, NBC News reports on Tuesday, according to Reuters and Agerpres.
The NBC cites six current or former American army managers, information services and justice.
Reacting after this account, the president of the Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, said that it categorically rejects any unilateral military action in its country and pointed out that such an operation “will not solve anything”.
Sheinbaum president also said that the US and Mexico have a good dialogue on security issues and therefore does not believe that the United States will resort to such unilateral actions.
Trump has adopted aggressive commercial measures against Mexico, justifying them by the need to combat drug trafficking and illegal immigration.
On February 1, 2025, Trump signed executive orders that imposed 25% rates on all imported goods from Mexico, claiming that these measures will remain in force “until drugs, especially fentanel, and all illegal immigrants will cease this invasion of our country.”
