Magistrates could retire at 65. Ciolacu: We are not allowed to lose 230 million euros from PNRR

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced on Tuesday that he has submitted the draft law to amend the law of special pensions in Parliament, so that the magistrates will retire at the age of 65, arguing that Romania cannot afford to lose 230 million euros from the PNR.

“Romania cannot afford to lose 230 million euros from the PNRR!
That is why, today, at the initiative of the informal leader of the coalition, Crin Antonescu, I submitted to the Parliament, together with Cătălin Predoiu, Kelemen Hunor and Varujan Pambuccian, a project to amend the Law of Special Pensions.
This project aims to correct the inequities between the pensioners, both from the perspective of contributivity and the retirement age – 65 for all, including for the “special”.
I am confident that President Crin Antonescu will promulgate this law, which responds to one of the greatest dissatisfaction in the Romanian society. Romania needs a mediator president, a man of dialogue, a president to build a bridge between the state and the citizens ”the prime minister wrote on his Facebook page.
