The Ukrainian president said that Chinese soldiers were captured in the Donetk region and that many such military were fighting in Russia's units, I write Reuters and Kyiv Independent.

The Ukrainian forces were involved in confrontations with Chinese troops in eastern Ukraine and took two prisoners, President Volodimir Zelenski said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters at Kiev, he added that he ordered Ukrainian officials to get an official explanation from China, who said he was joined by the Russia's war, and that the United States is expected to react.

“We have information that there are more than two such Chinese citizens in the units of the occupant,” Zelenski said.

Zelenski did not say whether Ukraine believes that the soldiers were acting on the front at the orders of Beijing.

Interrogation with a captured soldier

He explained that the soldiers were captured in the Donetk region and that they were in possession of “documents, bank cards, personal data”.

“I have charged Ukraine's Foreign Affairs to contact Beijing immediately and find out how China will react to this situation,” he added.

The Ukrainian leader said that the capture of the two soldiers and the involvement of China in the invasion is “a clear signal that Putin is going to do anything, less to put an end to the war.”

Zelenski has asked for “a reaction from the United States, Europe and all in the world who want peace” in its online post.

In a video recording of the interrogation with one of the captured soldiers, he describes how his commander was hit on the front, using a mixture of Chinese, English and probably Russian, writes the Ukrainian Kyiv Post.

Kiev urged Beijing to exert pressure on Moscow

China presents itself as a neutral part in conflict and states that it does not send lethal assistance to any of the parties, as opposed to the United States and other Western states.

However, China is a close political and economic ally of Russia, and NATO members have cataloged Beijing as a “decisive facilitator” of the invasion of Moscow, which he has never condemned, writes AFP.

Kiev repeatedly urged Beijing to exert pressure on Moscow to put an end to the invasion.

Russia has already used foreign military in his fight against Ukraine. Thousands of North Korean soldiers fought with Russian troops in Kursk, in the campaign that ended with the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the border region.

The mission of the North Korean forces was based on a security treaty between Moscow and Phenian, and North Korea provided not only soldiers, but also artillery and howitzers.
