The Turkish government has on Monday has temporarily suspended lemon exports, starting April 8, due to adverse weather conditions and the need to ensure the supply of the internal market, informs the Daily Sabah, quoted by Agerpres.

“Due to the cold weather and frost in several regions, the need to ensure the balance between supply and demand for agricultural and food products, as well as to maintain the dynamics of prices on the domestic and international market, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, the decision was taken to suspend, temporarily, the exports of the Lemon,”

According to the Ministry of Trade in Turkey, there have recently been registered with frost in the Mediterranean provinces Adana, Mărin and Hatay.

In 2024, Turkey exported a quantity of 1.639 million tons of citrus, which brought the country to about one billion dollars. Turkey's lemon exports were worth $ 357 million in 2024.
