On Monday, the health market and Wirtualna Polska published the results of their investigation, which shows that patients with pancreatic cancer, to receive modern treatment at the State Medical Institute of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, had to deposit several dozen thousand zlotys as a donation to the foundation operating at the hospital. “Such expectation was formulated against them by the head of one of the hospital clinics and chairman of the scientific council of the Institute Prof. Marek Durlik,” it was written.


It was noted that “those who did not pay, were most often operated in a classic way, giving worse effects of therapy. It happened from at least 2022 to 2024.”

Regardless of this I called to meet the management of the National Medical Institute. Every detail will be explained” – assured the deputy minister.
Professor Marek Durlik, head of the Gastroenterological and Transplant Surgery Clinic at the PIM Ministry of Interior and Administration, explained: “We could either ask patients for payments or stop operating.” “There was no money for surgery tools. The health market and Wirtualna Polska pointed out that the foundation at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration in Warsaw is not subject to the hospital. “One of its founders, in 2012, was Marek Durlik. The organization was created to support the hospital financially, among others by collecting money from satisfied patients and institutions that want to support the state health care system” – explained.
