The “Russian party” in the Republic of Moldova sends a new message to the Kremlin. “I congratulate the president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Vladimirovici Putin, and the Russian people twinned on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relations between our countries,” Igor Dodon told Facebook.
Igor Dodon, 50, was president of the Republic of Moldova, in 1996 and 2000. The politician is now the leader of the PSRM, the main opposition party in Chisinau.
“Moldova and Russia have always had a strong friendship and fruitful cooperation, we have historical, cultural and spiritual roots. Unfortunately, today, our relationships are not in the best period, but I am sure that the interim in power in Moldova will not be able to divide our peoples,” added the socialists.
“We will fully restore the strategic partnership with the Russian Federation. This is our national interest and the desire of most our citizens,” concluded Igor Dodon.
The parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova are planned for the autumn of 2025.
