“In fact, if you figure it out correctly, then those people who actually suffered from shelling did not do not fulfill their order of behavior at the airfield and did not go down during air alarm in shelter,” Chervinsky said.
He noted that official investigations were already conducted at the airfield, and they “confirmed that they were guilty of injured them, these officers or soldiers themselves, who simply did not go down, ignored or slept, or moved very slowly to shelter.”
The former intelligence officer believes that it is the military who will be accused if the investigation relative to the shelling of Kanatovo does not manage to prove the involvement of Chervinsky.
“If not Chervinsky is to blame, then they will try to blame the military then. That the masking of equipment was poorly made, people did not go down,” he said.
When asked by the journalist, what the ex-reconnaissance version of events regarding the history of the airfield, Chervinsky expressed confidence that the shelling is not related to the special operation of the aft of the Russian pilot of the Russian aircraft for an agreement with Ukrainian intelligence.

Context
As a result of a missile strike on the Kanatovo airfield on July 23, 2022, the commander of the military unit died and 17 Ukrainian defenders were injured. Two military fighters of the air forces of the Armed Forces were also destroyed, and the runway and other equipment, as well as the buildings, were significant damaged.
On April 20, 2023, the SBU reported that it was investigating all the circumstances that led to a massive missile strike at the Kanatovo airfield. Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Art. 111 (state treason) and part 5 of Art. 426-1 (excess for a military official of the authorities or official powers) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Since April 2023, Chervinsky was in jail, until in July 2024 he was released after the pledge. The ex-reconnaissance said that the bail in the amount of UAH 9 million was introduced by the Foundation of the Fifth President of Ukraine, a people's deputy from the “European Solidarity” Petro Poroshenko, and now it is under round-the-clock house arrest. The electronic bracelet was removed from Chervinsky.
