On Friday, the Sejm was in favor of the Senate amendments to the novel of the Tax Code, deleting a provision about the liquidation of the Polish Post Monopoly on the delivery of official shipments. Now the law will go to the president's desk.

Two deputies voted for rejection of the amendments of the Senate, 418 were against, and 2 abstained. At the same time, the Sejm rejected other amendments to the Senate, which did not affect the act.

It is about the amendment to the Tax Ordinance Act and some other acts. The most important – adopted by the Sejm – the change concerned the removal of the provisions from the Act, under which official shipments could be delivered by other operators than the designated operator, which is Poczta Polska. These provisions would end the monopoly of the mail to deliver shipments, including from tax offices.

The amendment itself concerns, among others coverage of the tax overpayment – resulting as a result of the decision of the Court of Justice of the European Union favorable to the taxpayer – during the date of overpayment to the date of its return. The same rules regarding interest rates will apply to overpayments that arose as a result of the Court's rulings.

The Act also harvests dates for delivery of official letters up to 14 days (in the case of hybrid delivery, the 15 -day delivery date was provided). (PAP)
