Kiriłł Dmitryjew about Trump: “He stopped World War III”

When asked by a journalist of the Breta Baiera right -wing station about the state of talks with the USA about Ukraine, Dmitryjew, the Kremlin negotiator and head of the Russian Fund for Direct Investment (RFPI), he assessed that they were going forward and great progress was made in them.
“Over the past three years, there has been no dialogue with Russia and Biden's administration. There was no attempt to understand the Russian position. There were no solutions that could be effective. And what the team of President Trump did is to understand what the space of solutions could be and achieving the first de -escalation of the conflict that has ever been achieved, i.e. stopping attacks on energy infrastructure between Russia and Ukraine “ – said the Russian envoy, the first high -ranking representative of the Kremlin visiting Washington since the beginning of the war.

The Kremlin praises Trump
“So we conduct good discussions (…) but there is no doubt that The team of President Trump not only stopped World War III from the outbreak, but also has already achieved significant progress on the resolution of the case of Ukraine” – he added.
When Baier pointed out to him that Russia had broken the decisions of suspending strokes on energy infrastructure objects, Dmitrijew claimed that Ukraine did similarly, but accused the media that they were not informing about it.
The head of the Russian State Fund said that during talks in Washington with representatives of administration and congress, he also raised economic issues and future cooperation in this field with the USA, claiming that the US and Russia can achieve a lot on joint investments in rare land metals or LNG gas. He also swore that Russia is not demanding that the US sanctions be abolished as a condition for suspension of weapons.
- Donald Trump did not impose duties on Russia. It can have a hidden goal in this
Sanctions are not subject to negotiations, convinces the Kremlin
“Russia does not ask for sanctions, because if you look at how GDP grows, it was 4 percent last year, compared to only 1 percent in Europe (…) So I think that sanctions can be lifted when American companies want to come back, they will want to take this business opportunity in Russia. But now Russia does not set any preliminary conditions, does not ask for specific sanctions “ – he said. He admitted, however, that in order to visit Washington, Trump's administration had to apply an exception to the sanctions imposed on him.
The Kremlin's envoy said that the exclusion of Russia from the list of countries covered by additional duties of the US was rather a “technical issue” and did not constitute a “large part” of his conversations with the Trump administration.
According to the formula, which the American administration used to calculate the rates, a duty of 41 percent should be imposed on Russia, but according to Trump's decision it was not imposed.
The White House justifies the exclusion of Russia with already applicable sanctions against this country, which was emphasized – “prevent any significant trade.”
