Until the end of the year, energy prices for households will not rise – the Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański declared on Thursday. He explained that prices on the energy exchange are falling, which is to be – in his opinion – the effect of accelerating Poland's energy transformation.

On Thursday, on TVN24 Andrzej Domański assured that “by the end of the year, energy prices for households will not rise.” He emphasized that prices on “Energy Exchange are falling this year”. “At the moment, the price of energy with delivery at 2026 is about PLN 416, about PLN 440 at the end of last year. We see these declines” – said the minister. According to Domański, this is due to the fact that the government has accelerated the energy transformation.

“In the history of Poland, so little energy has been produced from coal. We have more renewable sources that are the cheapest (…) We implement the program to build Polish nuclear energy,” said the head of the Ministry of Finance.

Pursuant to the current regulations, the maximum price of energy for households at the level of PLN 500/MWh will apply until the end of September 2025 to June this year. Climate Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced that her ministry wants to review the tariffs in mid-year and on this basis decide to continue freezing electricity prices.

She said that information from energy companies indicate that maybe in the fourth quarter of 2025 you would not need to freeze energy prices. She also pointed out that last year Wholesale prices of electricity dropped by over PLN 100 per MWh. (PAP)
