Impasse in the ruling coalition. Party leaders are trying to reach an agreement on the ceiling of commercial addition to the basic products

The PSD wants the ceiling of the commercial addition to the basic products to be extended after October 1, when it expires. The subject generated tensions in the coalition, because the government spokesman, Ioana Dogioiu, said that the decision of the non -ceiling of the ceiling has already been unanimously taken, denied by the PSD.

What is discussed in the meeting of the ruling coalition on Wednesday

The discussion regarding the continuation of the ceiling of the commercial addition to the products, which first entered into force in June 2023, will take place today, in the Government, political sources have said. According to them, from 10:00, only the presidents of the coalition parties will meet, and from 11:00 the discussions will continue in a wider frame with the leadership of the four parties.

Another topic that will be discussed is the reform of the local public administration, which also created a coalition block. Today, the leaders of the governing parties will have a new discussion with the figures from the territory regarding the number of employees and the expenses that the state has with them.

At the same time, the PSD wants to discuss the economic relaunch package, presented last week by the interim president of the party, Sorin Grindeanu.

After the coalition meeting, Ilie Bolojan has two sessions today. The first, from 2:00 pm, at PNL, where on the agenda are “the priorities of government and other technical issues”, according to HotNews sources.

From 4:00 pm, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will meet in the Government with representatives of the mayors from all over the country and with those of the county councils, to discuss the reform in the local public administration.

The new Impas of the Coalition – Capping the addition to the basic products

Last week, on Friday, PSD sources told Hotnews that Agriculture Minister Florin Barbu (PSD), asked the prime minister that the commercial addition to the basic products should be extended, but the head of the Government would have said it is “excluded”.

A reaction from the Government on this topic came on Saturday, through the voice of the spokesman Ioana Dogioiu.

“The decision of the non -heating of the capping of prices on the basic food was taken by the ruling coalition. The coalition decided, without any contrary, that the last three -month extension was to be the last, because it caused economic distortions both at the level of the producers and the traders,” Dogioiu said.

Her announcement was harshly criticized by PSD members, who claimed that there was no such agreement in the ruling coalition.

HotNews also contacted USR leaders from the ruling coalition who also said that I do not know that such a discussion would have taken place. Other representatives of the PSD said that such a discussion may have taken place, but not during the coalition meetings, but during a government meeting, where only the prime minister and ministers are present.

PSD has the “B” plan if it is not understood with Ilie Bolojan

PSD takes into account the project in Parliament to continue the ceiling of the commercial addition to the basic products, according to HotNews sources.

The social-democrats believe that it is not the ideal solution, but they will call it if an agreement is not reached.

“The PSD does not negotiate. It requires the extension of the ceiling”, say the sources from the PSD leadership.
