USR Deputy Cătălin Drulă comes to the Hotnews studio to explain why he wants to apply for the elections for the Capital City Hall and to talk about his calculations and the party in the battle for the local competition that can influence the political balance at national level.

The date for the elections at the City Hall has not yet been established, but the candidates are already aligning at the beginning. Cătălin Drulă said he was about to run and has the support of President Nicuşor Dan. “I want to apply. I also told the president about this intention. We still have some stages in the USR, our internal procedures, but more than that, we would like to have a wider candidacy in Bucharest, with a support of a common candidate from PNL and USR,” said Cătălin Drula, in August24.
Another variant discussed in PNL is the candidacy of Ciprian Ciucu, the mayor of Sector 6, elected with over 70% of the votes in the poll of last year. He said he did not want to communicate his decision until the Government sets the election calendar.

Cătălin Drulă is in the third term of deputy, being chosen on December 1, 2024, on USR lists, in the Timiș constituency. From July 10, 2022 until June 10, 2024, he was a president of the USR party.
