“The perpetrator of today's tragic shooting, as a result of which Charlie Kirk died, is already in detention. We thank the local and state authorities in Utah for cooperation with the FBI” – wrote on the platform X director of the FBI Kash Patel.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump wrote about Kirk's death. “The great, or even legendary Charlie Kirk is dead. Nobody understood or had a heart for young people in the United States better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by everyone, especially by me, and now, when he is gone with us, Melania and I consider his beautiful wife Erice and family. Charlie, we love you!” – the president wrote on the Truth Social platform.

He ordered to leave the flags to half the mast until Sunday evening, in tribute to the deceased. In an interview with “The New York Post” Trump described Kirk as “a very, very good friend” and “wonderful person”.

“Political violence has become too common”

Charlie Kirk was one of the leading figures of the American right and a close associate of Trump. He founded the Turning Point USA organization, which aimed to mobilize young conservative voters, and also ran his own media.

The announcer of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson called the Congressmen to celebrate Kirk's memory with a minute of silence and prayer. – Political violence has become too common in American society and we are not like that. We need every political character, we need everyone who has a platform to say it loudly and clearly. We are able to solve misunderstandings and disputes in a civilized way, and political violence must be stigmatized and must end, “Johnson calls.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in the US condemned political violence and made condolences to relatives of the deceased. “We are deeply shocked by the murder of Charlie Kirk. We submit sincere condolences to his loved ones. Political violence must be condemned, always and unequivocally,” said the embassy.
