Billions for Poland from the EU to defense. Donald Tusk: We do, we don't talk


On Tuesday, the European Commission decided that it would transfer Poland EUR 43.7 billion from the SAFE program. It was launched during the Polish chairman in the EU Council, on the initiative of the Polish Presidency. His goal is Increasing the production capacity of the European arms industry and the development of cooperation in defense orders.
As a rule, projects implemented by at least two countries will be financed, but in the first year contracts concluded unilaterally will also be allowed.

The program will also be able to be used by the EU -related countries – Norway and Switzerland – as well as countries that will sign special defense agreements, such as Great Britain. An important element is also the participation of Ukraine, which will be able to join projects together with community members.

Safe is to be one of the pillars of the construction of a common European defense policy, as well as a response to the increased military expenditure of the Kremlin.
