The Iran -Contra scandal, which shook America in the 1980s, was a mix of secret diplomacy, contradictory interests and political gambling.

Hall confessed in the Congress to destroy documents. She also admitted that she had taken documents from the White House that could charge North. In 1989, North was sentenced to three crimes, but the sentences were repeated soon after. Hall received immunity from the prosecutor's office. In the 1990s and 2000, North tried to start his political career without effect, and the hall completely disappeared from public life.
