Dorinel Munteanu, Hermannstadt's coach, gave his first impressions from the training camp in Antalya.
The technician of the Serbian team returned after 4 years in Turkey for a training camp. He declared himself satisfied after the first days of preparations and announced that he wants two more players, to have competition for positions in the second part of the season.
Dorinel Munteanu: “I want one or two more players”
“We are determined to get the most out of this training camp. I haven't been to Antalya since 2022, since I was at Oțelul. I have always said that no matter how short the vacation is, the preparation must be done. The preparation is going well, the boys are receptive, we are aware of what awaits us in the championship.
It's a tough fight. I found a group that is pure in spirit, eager to perform. They didn't realize why they were in this situation either. But trust in them grows, I am convinced that we will get out of this situation.
I want one or two more players. I want competition on every can. Having competition also increases the batch level. Balaure and Bejan are injured. I'm waiting for Balaure in the team as soon as possible, Bejan had a problem and he didn't recover, there was no point in taking him to the training camp, although I rely on him too”, declared Munteanu, live on Digi Sport.
Dorinel Munteanu: “I want Ciubotaru to keep his enjoyment of playing”
Dorinel Munteanu also spoke about Kevin Ciubotaru, the 21-year-old left defender who was one step away from transferring to FCSB. The two clubs had reached an agreement, but the talks between the player and the Romanian champion did not materialize.
“I had a discussion with Kevin Ciubotaru. I want him to keep his enjoyment of playing. I know that the managers want to sell him, but for him it is important to be calm mentally.
He understood the situation and I wish he would not get into all kinds of controversies, because he is young. I have young players who give him competition. He is a forward-thinking player, but he has to keep up the pace,” said Dorinel Munteanu.

Hermannstadt is penultimate in League 1, with 13 points. The first match of the year for the Sibiu team will be against Farul, on January 17.
