Thus, Tommy Cimato, an on -board companion, posted on his tiktok account (@tomycimato), a video in which he says that passengers should never dress in shorts, no matter how tempted this, especially since summer is approaching.
“You never know how clean the chair will be, so if you have long pants, the risk of contacting germs or bacteria is lower,” Tommy Cimato believes.
According to another board attendant, there are also Flip-flops sandals, high-heeled slats and heels.
“If I should recommend something, I would first advise you not to use high heels, flip-flops or any shoes that slide, especially for safety. If an evacuation takes place and slides are needed, you have to take off your high heels, as they can pierce the slide.” she explained.
In fact, most airlines warn the passengers in the safety video at the beginning of the flight that they have to remove their high -heeled shoes to use the slide.
Another stewardess, Christine Negroni, believes that during the flight the passenger should not be discharged, no matter how comfortable they feel without shoes.
“In case of emergency, if you have to get out of a plane, the floor could be very hot or cold, it could be covered with oil or flames. Also, if the plane would land in a corn chain, I don't think you would like to be barefoot,” she said, specifying that under normal conditions she does not recommend passengers to risk putting her bare feet on the dirty floor of the aircraft.
While the footwear advice was appreciated as reasonable, being logically argued, Tommy Cimato's recommendation not to use shorts to protect you from bacteria has sparked criticism.
” I'm sorry to tell you this, but bacteria and viruses are much smaller than the fabric of the material. They don't care if you wear shorts, long pants or a skirt of any length. If they want to stick to your skin, they will simply do it among the fibers of the clothes. (…) There are many types of materials that could keep microbes and germs away, but the vast majority of us do not wear garbage bags or plastic tarpaulins during the flight. “ someone commented.
