Ambassador Andrei Muraru: The idea that Donald Trump does not accept Nicușor Dan “is not only a misinformation, but an obvious manipulation” / what he said about the president's visit to the USA

Romania's ambassador to Washington, Andrei Muraru, told Prima TV on Saturday that he is “convinced” that Nicușor Dan's visit will materialize and recalled that all post -December Romanian presidents went to the White House during the time they held the position, reports News.ro.
Asked about the idea launched by the sovereign parties that President Nicușor Dan is not accepted by his American counterpart, the Romanian ambassador said that “it is manipulation that has nothing to do with reality”.
“It is not only a misinformation, but more than that, an obvious manipulation because in Central and Eastern Europe, in the last year, we had two countries with presidential elections, Poland, where Karol Nawrocki was elected, and Romania, in which President Nicuşor Dan won these elections on May 18, and both states were treated the same after this short.
The ambassador said that both the Polish and the Romanian leader were called by Donald Trump after the victories obtained in the presidential elections.
“And in the case of one, in the case of the other there were posts of the president in which he directly manifested this intention to increase these partnerships,” added Andrei Muraru.
The head of the Washington diplomatic mission claims that Donald Trump “knows and appreciates the value of the partnership between the US and Romania, considering the neighborhood of Romania with Ukraine, but also the role and contribution of Romania to NATO.
Andrei Muraru, about the visit of Nicușor Dan to the US: “It will be done”
The ambassador recalled that after the Revolution all the Presidents of Romania paid at least one visit to the White House during the term of office.
“This says a lot about the solidity of the relationship between Romania and the United States, because not all states and not many states have had the chance, that in the last 30 years, each head of state or government, in the case of monarchies, for example, have a visit to the White House. And of course it depends to a great extent on this agenda of priorities, and the more it is consistent, the more it is to the state, the more it is to the state, the more it is to the state. Andrei Muraru.
He said he was “convinced” that the visit of Nicușor Dan to the US will “be done”.
“This visit will be made, I am convinced, and it would be very important to give a level of confidence between the two heads of state and to create other horizons to strengthen this partnership,” Muraru said.
On the other hand, the Romanian ambassador mentioned that “no one can say exactly” when the visit will take place.
“I think there are very good prospects, but from the experience I had in Washington, in general, these visits are announced when they are perfected, just to create unrealistic expectations in the public space, because, if we say that it will take place at the end of the year or at the beginning of next year and it only takes place next year,” Andrei Muraru.
The Romanian ambassador said that the US has “a very full calendar” next year.
“However, in 2026, America celebrates 250 years since Independence, so the whole year will be loaded with events, not just July. America will host the World Football Championship. So it is a very full calendar and, I repeat, it depends a lot on our ability to build this agenda and to insert our priorities in the American administration,” the Romanian administration has concluded.
